the fall of troy - vomiting winter (2008)

a lot of people shit on this band for reasons unknown to me, but i've pretty much banged my head to anything these dudes have released, and this new cut, "vomiting winter" is no exception. the music sounds like shit straight off of de-loused in the comatorium. yeah...i went there. vocals, however, are in another ballpark.

also, i must say, adding lil wayne to the band's lineup was definitely a plus. dude rips on the bass.

65daysofstatic - the destruction of small ideals (2007)

this band is straight fire. yeah, yeah. post-rock. i know. but this album rips. 65daysofstatic...somewhat similar to russian circles, and play on the heavier side of things. i missed my chance to catch these guys live on the fear before tour last
summer. epic fail.

the fall of troy - ghostship demos (2005)

ah, i know. so much shit is talked about this band. i honestly think it's ridiculous. this band is next level. all three members are great assets (even though the bassist recently left) to the band. the ghostship demos are a part of a supposed project titled "phantoms on the horizon" due sometime in 09, after the next fall of troy record. these songs are among some of the best shit the fall of troy has recorded. ghostship I, in particular, destroys lives.

russian circles - enter (2006)

russian circles are an instrumental band out of chicago, and are one of my favorite instrumental acts. i hate to keep dropping the post-rock tag, this group bring some fury to a genre that tends to be on the "pretty" side. enter is an album that does this genre of music a great amount of justice, and is a very underrated album. i didn't even discover this album until it was halfway through 2007.

they'll be releasing a new album in 08, so be on the lookout for that.
