so i didn't even realize that i did it, but the two previous posts i made were both released on portland based slowdance records.

while i'm at it, i'd just like to hype the shit out of this label. they deserve you're undivided attention and your support. they've released music by and are home to acts like rescue, the velvet teen, the new trust, and kissing tigers. if you haven't heard any of those bands, you're really doing yourself a disservice. how they've gone under the radar for so long is beyond me. get in the know chump, i promise there's something there for everyone.

kissing tigers - pleasure of resistance (2004)

one reason i think kissing tigers haven't blow up with hip shaking hipsters world wide is because when you listen to who they're comparative to, they've got more in common with depeche mode and new order, than a lot of newer 'dance' acts, who just rip off each other. while obvious musical comparisons to the faint (only with brattier vocals) can be made when it comes to these guys, kissing tigers definitely hold their own and stand out amongst their peers of synth heavy indie rockers. this one will definitely have you out of your chair and getting down after the second song.. and your third shot.
