daytrotter sessions (2008)

yes, i'm aware these are as old as shit, but after talking to a handful of my friends, i've realized that not many people know about these. regardless, some of these are definitely worth the time. here are some of my personal favorites. and no, i'm not posting the bon iver sessions. free music is always worthwhile. the entire list is located here.

tokyo police club - smith (2007)

so we've posted about tokyo police club before, so feel free to read up and check out a lesson in crime there.

tpc recently signed to saddle creek records and put out an online/digital ep called "smith." most of these songs were available in some form over the internet, but i guess this is just a formal (somewhat) release.

tokyo police club - a lesson in crime (2006)

straight out of canada, tokyo police club bring a very straightforward approach to indie-rock. short, concise, to the point. this band wastes no time, and with a lesson in crime (which clocks in at about 17 minutes), they bring urgency and a more (sorry in advance) punk feel to indie rock, similar to that of the strokes and the arctic monkeys. they recently signed to saddle creek, so expect big things from them in 2008.
