astra moveo - new songs + downloads

staying out all night + grinding on strangers + making love + rinse + repeat = astra moveo.

you might remember astra moveo from a post i did when we first started up the blog. anyway, the colorado beast are back with two new tracks, "kill ya stereo" and "shake the heavens". put on your sunday best before hitting the play button, because i promise you'll be grinding on the first person you see once they start (and we all like to look our best for a good grind session).

if you dig innerpartysystem (see a few posts down), the faint, etc.. definitely get into this. tossing in a disco/funk edge, they somehow manage to both dirty up and bring a fresh edge to the electro/rock genre. hopefully a proper release sees the light of day sooner than later.. but in the meantime, you've got these new tracks, plus i'm including the four songs they have up for download.

65daysofstatic - dance parties (2008)

huge fan of this band. nearly lost my shit when i heard these two songs. they're off of their new ep with a title i'm too lazy to type. it's about dance parties though. and there are vocals. i'm just gonna assume that this is their personal take on the recent dance/electro/pop/whatever wave, haha. be sure to grab the destruction of small ideals, too.

midnight juggernauts is a 3-piece out of melbourne, australia. these aussies have been around for a hot minute, putting out 7 inches and doing remixes that you've probably heard before. they recently released their debut album, dystopia in the summer of 07, and is a solid collection of songs, including favorites like tombstone and into the galaxy. i've also included some extra goodies for you.

justice - waters of nazareth (2006)

although justice just released their debut lp earlier this year, they have been building hype for a few minutes. before the release of †, justice released an ep for the track 'waters of nazareth' (which also appears on 07's †) along with a few remixes and demos, and the track 'carpates.' wamp wamp.

boys noize - oi oi oi (2007)

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

alexander ridha, better known as boys noize, is a german electro producer/dj from berlin. he's been doing the remix thing for a while, remixing everyone from justice to feist to depeche mode. he recently put out his debut album, oi oi oi, in september of this year, and it's definitely a solid release. you'll be hearing more boys noize at your local dance parties, and probably hear them name-dropped a lot more in the very near future. dig.

the faint - danse macabre (2001)

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

the faint have been around for a while now, and with the recent wave of electro and the like, i feel the need to mention a record that was (arguably) ahead of its time (as far as modern music goes, anyway). danse macabre came out over 6 years ago, and still holds a pretty solid place in many people's record collection. most would also say it's their best work, including myself. since then, the faint continued perfecting a very synth-heavy and distinct brand of indie, put on brilliant live shows, and make you move your bones. my only complaint with this one is that it's not long enough.

i am x - the alternative (2006)

i am x (or iamx) is the theatric solo project of sneaker pimps' frontman chris corner. this album takes aspects from synth/electro pop acts like depeche mode and new order, and blends it with the moody sounds of brit-rock acts like placebo. in other words, it's amazing. this is the sound of an all night coke binge in the bright lights of a big city. corner's vocals are lush and his melodies grand, and the music is enough to get up on the nearest person giving off he right amount of pheromones.
