with lyrics like that, you should have a pretty clear picture of what you're getting into with this album. often compared to at the drive in, they combined stop-and-start time changes with huge bass lines and balls-out southern influenced guitar riffs. add glassjaw's daryl palumbo making guest vocal appearances on two tracks, and you've got one amazing album.

not too long after touring on nihilists, the band changed their name to your highness electric, though i don't think they've done anything in a while. whatever, download this album.

glassjaw - el mark ep (2003?)

daaaaaaaaaaamn. another glassjaw post. this is somewhat rare and was always a pain in the ass to find. it's the itunes EP they called 'el mark' somewhat soon after worship and tribute released. these dudes will probably never release a bad song, and after starting this ep with "who the fuck wants to live forever?," who could think otherwise?

also included is the absolute definition of a gem, convectuoso, a song known to have been booted off of worship and tribute (and by far the only thing that is wrong with it) because roadrunner records are a bunch of twats.

ohhhh lordy. this is the EP that started the golden era of glassjaw. mark my words:

so daryl palumbo is basically the dopest guy ever. when he first put glassjaw on hiatus for what was a "dance-pop" record, "what the fuck?" basically summed up the glassjaw fanbase's overall sentiment.

though it was a doubted project, palumbo pulled through with an extremely hook-filled, sassy rock project, to be released as "decadence." working with dan the automator couldn't have hurt, either.

house of blow (2007)

daryl palumbo is a busy man. one of his recent endeavors is the dirty hip-hop stylings of house of blow, a project he started with f. sean martin of hatebreed fame. these tracks are a little raw, but it's daryl palumbo. nearly everything he touches is gold to me. if he could just buckle down and record a full length with house of blow, i'd be a happy man. check out the tracks afghani black and banger. cardboard city.
