it seems fitting that a blog run by bears promotes a band called bear colony. bear colony is a collective/collaboration by a handful of artists, most notably ex-members of lovedrug, chase pagan and vince griffins, the main songwriter/creating mind behind the lyrics of bear colony. the majority "we came here to die" was written in a hospital room, after griffins was (mis)diagnosed with chron's disease. overall, the record is set to a melancholy/somber tone lyrically and vocally, but the music is driven by electronics. the bear colony project is somewhat paralelled to a more recent version of the postal service, as most of the songs were worked on in different parts of the country and then later compiled together.
